The Albany County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide following the July 4th discovery of a body at Mirror Lake.

Mirror Lake has reopened after a body was found near the Day Use Area, the Albany County Sheriff's Office in a Saturday morning Facebook post said.

The pilot of a plane that crashed southwest of Laramie Wednesday morning was able to walk away with only minor cuts, the Albany County Sheriff's Office says.

The post says that in less populated areas, the helicopter will be flying low to the ground, at around 300 feet above the surface.

Local authorities in Albany County successfully apprehended wanted man Joshua Nelson in a dramatic chase involving the community and law enforcement.

According to the post, Shanna Brubaker was last seen in Cheyenne on April 29.

The Albany County Sheriff's Office is warning the community of a phone scam circulating in the area, in which someone is posing as an ACSO detective to coerce victims into giving them money.
