Cheyenne East Thunderbirds

Cheyenne East junior runner Maggie Madsen was selected as the Gatorade Wyoming Girls Cross Country Player of the Year award winner on Wednesday for 2025-26.

Our most recent selections were Cheyenne East junior Maggie Madsen, Buffalo freshman Milan Monterastelli, and Star Valley senior Colton Cranney.

Caroline Brokaw from Jackson, Cheyenne East’s Colin Crecelius, and Sheridan’s Eli Balkenbush were chosen as the recipients.

Both won the first state title of their prep career, and both completed undefeated seasons.

She will also be on the cheer team for the Tigers

She is the first and only recipient of this honor from East High School in Cheyenne.

The Campbell County Camels won three straight elimination games to capture the 2025 Wyoming High School Softball State Championship.
