Rocker Rick Springfield was arrested Sunday night in Malibu, CA, and charged with a DUI. According to TMZ, police initially pulled over the 61-year-old for a traffic violation. However, when they noticed the smell of alcohol, Springfield was subjected to two failed sobriety tests, where he measured a .10 and a .08.

The Coalition to Prevent Substance Abuse (website) as well as the Safe Ride (website) kicks off their city wide campaign to educate students of the dangers of drinking and driving and the new city DUI laws.  A neon sign that has the bunking horse and the words Safe Ride, 766-7433 and Anyone, Anywhere are being distributed to most Laramie Bars in town...

Over 15 vehicles have been organized to drive people around Laramie from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. on New Year's Eve for the 14th Annual Safe Ride Safe Tow Home.  Anyone can call 760-1213 to get a ride and get their car home safely for free.
