We thought this might be an appropriate time to ask about the biggest issues facing local schools.

Jillian Balow says she is also concerned about "further, similar orders" that may be coming.

Many of Wyoming’s elected officials, as well as professionals within Wyoming’s oil & gas industry are reacting to the recent news that President Joe Biden is set to announce a wide-ranging moratorium on new oil and gas leasing on U.S. land.

She wrote that "we must strive to restore civility, transparency, and trust in our nation’s founding and institutions."

State Public Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist said face coverings are essential as people can transmit the virus to others before they feel or show any symptoms.

Balow said social distancing, hygiene and enhanced sanitation in line with federal and state regulations will be enforced.

Each school district must have an Adapted Learning Plan approved by the Department of Education before April 6 to continue to receive state funding.

Balow says layoffs and school closures may be implemented in some districts.

The program promotes awareness about school safety, intervention while protecting confidentiality, and reviewing how authorities handled a situation.

The Wyoming State Board of Education has approved new K-12 science standards, the first new standards in 13 years.
