If nothing else, the 12 songs on 'New to This Town' -- the first solo album from Kix Brooks in 23 years -- serve as reminder that we really don't know the mustachioed half of Brooks and Dunn very well. The project is is downright rowdy, and Brooks is a more colorful singer than he showed on songs like 'Lost and Found.'

It’s a busy month for new country music releases in September 2012, with no less than 10 albums from major country music stars hitting the shelves. While few are using the day after Labor Day to release new music, Sept. 11 is literally packed with new music. Little Big Town, Kix Brooks and Aaron Lewis are just three of the artists with new albums out that day.

It's what's known as an occupational hazzard.  If you're a singer, those vocal chords are your bread and butter, your rice and beans....your paycheck.  And if you ever have a problem with them, you have to take it very, very seriously.  That's the case with Kix Brooks as well, and forced him to cancel an appearance.

Kix Brooks will release his first solo single since the split of Brooks and Dunn in 2010. The country great has teamed up with Eagles‘ guitarist Joe Walsh to record ‘New to This Town,’ a song that will be released to radio on March 19.

Well, so, is he an actor or is he a country artist?  Ever since the break-up of the monumentally successful duo Brooks and Dunn, people have been watching Ronnie Dunn continue on the path he's been on for decades. Now, what about his partner Kix Brooks?
