Bird flu has returned to the Midwest earlier than authorities expected after a lull of several months. Officials say the highly pathogenic disease was detected in two commercial turkey flocks in western Minnesota's Meeker County.
Although the Midwest region of the United States has been derogatorily referred to as “flyover country” in some instances, millions of Americans are more than happy to make their homes within these states.
Fleur de Lis has notified the residents of Midwest about the situation, and temporarily evacuated houses near the school where some teachers and staff stay during the week.
