One big red flag with this scam as well as many others is that intended victims in some cases are being asked to pay with gift cards or wire transfers.
An old phone scam has been reported quite a bit in Sublette County recently.
That's according to the Sublette County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
According to the post, the agency has been getting a lot of reports of someone representing themselves as a sheriff's deputy calling up potential victims and demanding payment for an alleged arrest warrant...
Some of the common scams include such things as "debt relief calls, imposter calls, investment scams, charity scams, extended car warranties, prize and lottery scams, and travel scams."
