The Cheyenne Offie of the National Weather Service is forecasting a "big weather" day, with strong winds, large hail and possible tornadoes.

The agency says possible hazards include tornadoes, winds of up to 80 miles per hour, and baseball size hail.

Very large hail (possibly to baseballs), downburst winds to 70 mph and a few tornadoes are possible Wednesday afternoon through mid evening for the area.

Cheyenne-based meteorologist Don Day Jr. recently told Townsquare Media that it's not unusual for Wyoming to see multiple tornadoes this time of year.

A series of warnings were issued, and Cheyenne's emergency sirens were alerted at one point.

Tornado watch issued for areas of Albany and Laramie County.

It's tornado season, and I know I'm not the only one that loves to watch videos of tornadoes as they move through areas.

Four years ago today, Laramie experienced Mother Nature's fury in the form of an F-3 tornado called "Tornado of the Year."

The latest update says golf ball size hail, rather than tennis ball size, is possible. But the area possibly at risk for a tornado has been extended further into southeast Wyoming.

From 1950 to 2021, Weld County has seen a whopping (after yesterday) 292 tornadoes more than any other county in America.
