Up to 10 inches of snow and wind gusts as high as 50 mph are expected in the Sierra Madre and Snowy ranges Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.
Travel could be very difficult along Interstate 80 west of Cheyenne this evening into early Wednesday morning, where up to half a foot of snow could fall.
Up to a foot of mountain snow combined with winds gusting as high as 50 mph could make for dangerous travel along portions of I-80 in southeast Wyoming tonight.
The westbound lanes of I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie remain closed, as crews work to reopen roughly 250 miles of highway between Laramie and Rock Springs.
Another spring snowstorm is expected to dump several inches of snow on southeast Wyoming tonight and tomorrow, which could push some already high running rivers out of their banks.
