The Battle Pass Byway is one of the most scenic drives in the Cowboy State. The 11-mile stretch of WY-70 from Encampment to Slaughterhouse Gulch may also be the most haunted road in Wyoming.
In 1987, the ghost of an elderly man in a cowboy hat appeared at the Fort Bridger Cemetery. The following year, the old man's widow died and his ghost disappeared.

In the 1880s, an officer found Gus in bed with his wife. Sadly, Gus was killed jumping out of a second-story window. Some believe his ghost lives in the barracks and is still looking for his pants.
