Attendance limits for indoor and outdoor gatherings will increase starting Monday, Feb. 15, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon announced Thursday.

Wyoming First Lady Jennie Gordon has tested positive for COVID-19, the governor's office announced Thursday afternoon.

Under the new orders, indoor and outdoor gatherings will be limited to 25 people or fewer without restrictions.

Gordon said that health professionals have advised him that Wyoming could see as much as 3,000 new virus cases in the near future.

Harrist said the lack of outbreaks in Wyoming's school is proof that wearing face masks works.

Under the new orders, restaurants will no longer be required to space out seating in booths and the number of people at a table will increase from six to eight.

However, health officials announced a change that will permit close-contact sports in indoor settings.

Gov. Mark Gordon says Wyoming is "trending pretty well compared to our piers in terms of total number of cases."

Despite increased testing, the percentage of positive tests has remained steady at 2.9%.

The governor said that while he supports the right to protest ''It is my hope and desire that we do not see additional infections and cases of COVID-19 in Wyoming due to the recent protests.''

The closures are expected to save the state a little over $197,000 from June 15 through Sept. 30.

The decision is expected to cut about 200 jobs from the company's Cheyenne workforce over the next year to year-and-a-half.
