The Judds Reunite for Soaring ‘Love Can Build a Bridge’ at the 2022 CMT Music Awards
The Judds delivered what was possibly the most-anticipated performance of the night at the 2022 CMT Music Awards on Monday (April 11), reuniting for their first televised performance in two decades for a rendition of "Love Can Build a Bridge."
Kacey Musgraves was on hand to introduce the Judds, and she also offered some thoughts on what the legendary duo has meant to her own country career. The mother-daughter duo, consisting of Naomi and Wynonna Judd, took the stage in downtown Nashville, with some of the most iconic parts of Music City's backdrop, including the Country Music Hall of Fame, in the background.
As the wind whipped around them as if on cue, the Judds delivered one of the most stunning performances of the night, made even that much more stunning thanks to a slew of choir members who joined them on the breathtaking song, which was originally released in 1990. On the very same day the duo announced that they will be going back on tour later this year, they went and proved that they still have a fire that will never, ever be extinguished.
The 2022 CMT Awards aired live from Nashville on CBS. Kelsea Ballerini, Anthony Mackie and Kane Brown co-hosted the show. Brown was a last-minute addition to the hosting lineup, as Ballerini had to bow out of attending in person after receiving a positive COVID-19 test. She still did her part to host virtually from home.
