Traffic Stop Turns Up 60 lbs of Marijuana
GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — A 42-year-old North Carolina man is facing a felony charge after Wyoming authorities say they found 60 pounds of marijuana in his car during a routine traffic stop.
Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Josh Undeberg says he pulled John Strider Holiman over for speeding on Interstate 90 near Gillette and became suspicious when he smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car.
The Associated Press reported Saturday a drug-sniffing dog led to a search that turned up two duffel bags and several other bags and containers full of marijuana. Authorities also found a bag of suspected hashish on the front seats.
Holiman faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
