Wyoming may only have one university, but our junior college system is among the best in the country.

According to a new study, which ranked 728 junior colleges and community colleges based on a variety of factors, including tuition, class sizes, and quality of education, Wyoming has the 12th best system nationwide.

Two of the Cowboy State's seven community colleges ranked among the 100 best in America. Northwest College in Powell was 39th, earning high marks for cost, financial aid and career placement. Sheridan College, a branch of Northern Wyoming Community College, finished 88th.
