Wyoming ‘Winter Tour’ Named One Of The Top 20 Hiking Trails in the World
In case you weren't already convinced that Wyoming is one of the most beautiful places on earth, National Geographic recently named the "Winter Tour" among the 20 best hiking trails in the world.
The 216-mile trail runs from Jackson, Wyoming, through Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and the Gallatin National Forest on its way to Bozeman, Montana.
It may also be one of the most dangerous trails on the planet. Along with the constant threat of wild animals, hikers must also be prepared for even wilder weather, including the danger of deadly avalanches in the winter and spring.
The Winter Tour was the 11th hiking trail on the Nat Geo list, which also included exotic locations in Iceland, Nepal, New Zealand, Switzerland and Uganda.
