Hear Zac Brown Band’s ‘From Now On’ From ‘The Greatest Showman – Reimagined’
Almost a year after its release, The Greatest Showman -- inspired by the world of PT Barnum's Barnum & Bailey Circus -- is back, featuring even more dazzling theatrics, even more dramatic stunts, and, this time around, musical help from a star-studded cast of performers. Among the artists involved are the Zac Brown Band, who lend their sound to the reimagining of the film's soundtrack in a soaring cover of "From Now On." Readers can press play to listen to the fiddle-imbued version of the anthem from the movie.
"From Now On" was originally performed by the film's Hugh Jackman. However, the lyrics for the tune play out as if the song might have been the original handiwork of ZBB, speaking of lessons learned and a deep resolution looking towards the future.
"I saw the sun begin to dim / And felt that winter wind blow cold / A man learns who's there for him / When the glitter fades and the walls won't hold," the lyrics explain. "'Cause from that rubble what remains / Can only be what's true / If all was lost there's more I gained / 'Cause it led me back to you."
The chorus picks up with trademark Zac Brown Band banjo and fiddle lines, setting a backdrop to the group frontman's familiar vocals in place of actor Jackman.
The Greatest Showman – Reimagined was released on Nov. 16, and is available for download. The album includes an all-star lineup of artists, including Kelly Clarkson and Pentatonix, recreating fan-favorite tunes from the original soundtrack.
