Another Sign That Country has hit the Big Time
For the first time in history, Billboard Magazine has decided to offer a mini-magazine dedicated exclusively to country music.
For those of you who are not music directors at country music stations, let me just say that this is a very, very big deal. The legendary music magazine (in conjunction with 'Stache Media) will now offer a mini-magazine dedicated to all things country.
The new mini-mag will offer its first edition on Tuesday, Decembr 27th. Retail outlet for the offering is an exclusive of Taget Stores.
The first edition offering will feature two different covers, One will highlight Jason Aldean. The other will showcase the Zac Brown Band.
Plans are to have a 20-track CD featuring that cover's artist. Each magazine will contain 48 pages of interviews with country favorites and will also contain music reviews and a 2012 calendar.
Partnering with Billboard on this special country edition has allowed us to offer a great value proposition to the consumer says 'stache media's SVP of Marketing Tony Bruno. Because of the brand's prominence and the credibility of the magazine, we are able to expose the country music scene to an even wider audience.
For those of you who regularly shop Target, you'll find the magazine in the music section of the store. There is an online offering at Target.com/billboardcountry.
Hopefully this new mini-mag will take off. There is always room for more outlets highlighting the exciting world that is Country Music. I'm looking forward to the release.
