Howdy. It's been my distinct pleasure to be in radio since I was just a kid. The fact that I've never really had to work for a living is a big comfort. I started in a small station in Thermopolis, WY and never looked back. I've pretty much always been enamored with small market radio. It's a profession that allows you to do nearly every single job, and hopefully excel at most of them. I'm proud to be associated with such a GREAT country station as KCGY Y95. Southeast Wyoming, Northern Colorado and Western Nebraska are truly fortunate to have such great quality Country 24/7. I'm always happy to throw the older stuff in with the top 20 selections we bring you. Thanks for listening the THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE COUNTRY. AND GO POKES!

Zac Brown – Keep Me in Mind [VIDEO]
HAPPY FRIDAY! Seriously, happy Friday. Even though it's been a short week, what with New Year's and all, it seems like I've worked 10 days in 4. So, as a little bit of stress-relief and as a celebration of Friday, I decided to share a video with ya!

Loretta Lynn had concerts scheduled on Saturday, January 7th at Paramount Arts Center in Ashland, Ky., and another the next night at the Durham Performing Arts Center in Durham, N.C.. However, continuing health issues have forced her to cancel both.
Friday Fun Pack Song
Here's a snippet of the song to be listening for during the 9 AM hour today.
Trace Adkins – NRA Country Artist for January
Trace Adkins is the first National Rifle Association's Country Artist for 2012. For the next month, fans of the country star can get a behind the scenes look from Trace's farm in Tennessee.
Tim McGraw – A Few Thoughts on His New Single
When I first heard Tim McGraw, we were both a lot younger and had a lot more attitude about us. But, time marches on, life happens and being a young buck with a young buck attitude becomes a whole lot less interesting. It has always been thus. With his new release, Tim shows that you CAN learn from your mistakes.
Dolly Parton – Back on the Silver Screen [VIDEO]
As we told you in an earlier post, Dolly Parton is about to return to the big screen.
Dolly will take to the screen along with Queen Latifah in a story about a gospel choir from rural Georgia competing on the national stage and trying to win the Joyful Noise Competition in L.A. The following is an interview with Dolly Parton from The Boot.
Taylor Swift – Wins with “Ours” [VIDEO]
I remember the dark ages in radio when an artist had just one medium to bring their songs to the masses. If you were an artist back in the day, you hoped that some radio station, somewhere would pick up on your song and play it. Well, now, things are juuuust a little different.
A New Year – And New Music
It's a brand new year. A clean slate is mean't to be written upon. So, I'm coming back and looking forward to some great new music this month. There's a lot of big names putting out new singles this month, and I couldn't be happier.
First Closings for K-Mart and Sears Announced
The first 79 projected closures of either K-Mart or Sears stores (and in some markets, both) have been announced out of the corporate headquareters in Illinois. And so far, Laramie is NOT on the list.
Jo Dee Messina – Teaming up with WD-40
I am NOT making this up. It's a long-standing practice for artists to partner with a corporate sponsor to highlight their music. Think Nascar or NAPA. But, this is the first time I've ever heard of a lubricant teaming up with a country star.
Eric Church – Drink in My Hand [VIDEO]
Well, we're headin' toward the New Year's Eve weekend just about as fast as we can. So, I thought I'd check out Mr. Church's latest video for his fans.
2011 – Some Memorable Passings
I always get a little melancholy this time of year. I think it has a lot to do with the passage of time and the fact that the passing of time comes with the passing of some very talented and important people in the business. Our friends at CMT have compiled a very comprehensive list of those who have passed.
