In his continuing support for the battle against breast cancer, Jason Aldean has again added to the coffers of the fight with his latest Concert for the Cure.  All monies raised will go toward the very worthy cause of wiping this nasty disease from the planet.  The September 30th concert came just one day before Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raised $ 315,000.00 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.

Jason had also established an auction on eBay.  The winning bidder would receive roundtrip airfare for two, hotel accommodations, front row seats and a private meet-and-greet with the singer.  80% of the money will go to Susan G. Komen.  The prize went for $7,500.00.

"This is one of my favorite things we do all year and taking it on the road to other cities has been huge in helping us bring in more money for Komen," Jason comments on his annual event. "All of the money we raised will go to the local Roanoke effort, allowing them to give free mammograms to those who can't afford it. We'll pick a different spot for next year and try to beat it. October is a big month for raising money and awareness, and I have to thank my fans for doing their part! Seeing an arena filled with pink is just a really cool thing!"

Jason is joined the effort by thousands of tireless workers and many, many big names.  On the country side, of course, is the recent release by Martina McBride, I'm Gonna Love You Through It.  She is also scheduled to pull the switch that will light up the Empire State Building in pink.

I have my own reasons to get behind the fight against breast cancer.  I'm sure there are very few people in America that haven't been touched by this disease in some way.  I wear my breacelet everyday and contribute often.  The bracelet has never raised an eyebrow as far as I can tell.  'Course, I'm not a kid in school and probably would wear it even if I was.

Good on ya, Jason.  Keep up the good work and let's get rid of breast cancer....yesterday.
