We reported earlier that the ladies were planning a benefit concert for their hometown theater in Franklin.  Now, that concert has occurred and the Judds couldn't be happier with the results and getting back on the stage.

The hometown show brought back several fond memories to the duo, including the fact that Wynona would be unlike her little sister Ashley.  Seems Ashley was concientious and always did here homework.  Wynona, on the other hand, always played her guitar and let the books rest.  "I played my guitar instead," Wy explained, adding, "I think it worked out pretty good for me." Wynona shared those thoughts in a recent interview with our friends at The Boot.

The concert reportedly included old standards from the duo's early days.  Girls Night Out, Rockin' With the Rhythm of the Rain  and Love Is Alive.  Then Wynona did a solo set with her best works, including She Is His Only NeedNo One Else on Earth and just for fun, a version of Elvis'  Burning Love.

Long time fans will remember that the duo was forced into retirement after Naomi's diagnosis with Hepatitis C back in 1991.  They recently shared their own private trials and tribulations in a very popular series on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network.

Both Naomi and Wynona are reportedly glad for the opportunity to actually get to know each other better.  A lot of time and a lot of water under the bridge have reportedly allowed them to see each other in a deeper and more respectful way.

"We grew up together, and this year we saw each other as women," adds Naomi. "She's in mid-life. She's got teenage kids herself. And the Oprah show, our therapist was there so he was guiding us. We really saw each other in a very deep, new way. I'm very grateful for that."

The Franklin theater benefit is reportedly not the last chance their fans have to see the two Judds.  They are reportedly planning a show together in Marksville, LA.  However, Wynona is planning to extend her solo tour and will be going into the studio soon to record a new album December.  A fan like me is looking forward to the release in December.
