Investigators say they may never find the body of a 13-month-old Cheyenne boy who went missing last month.

Laramie County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Captain Linda Gesell announced Monday night that the search for Silas Ojeda was called off Thursday after authorities failed to find the boy's body in a landfill west of Ault, Colorado.

"We haven't had any other leads," said Gesell. "However, if we get a tip that would lead us somewhere else we'll be on that."

Gesell says portions of car seats similar to Silas' as well as blankets that appeared to have some sort of biological stains on them have been sent to the Wyoming State Crime Lab.

"If it comes back that'd be great, we'll go off of that, but we don't have high hopes," said Gesell.

Twenty-three-year-old Logan Rogers is charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangering with methamphetamine in the boy's death.

"Rogers has already given us four different stories, so I guess there's a possibility that he could say something else," said Gesell. "Until we find him (Silas) we're not going to know where exactly he's at."

Silas' mother, 26-year-old Rhiannon Ojeda, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of child endangerment with methamphetamine and child endangering, but she was released over the weekend.

Laramie County District Attorney Jeremiah Sandburg says his office didn't press charges against her because they didn't have enough evidence to go to trial.

"She's not talking to us," said Gesell. "We'll continue to investigate this and follow up with any leads that come in."
