The University of Wyoming's fall 2019 freshman class is the second-largest ever at the school. The largest class of first-time students was last year's (2018).

So, who are the folks that make up the student body of UW? Let's take a look at the numbers:

  • First-Time Students Fall 2019: 1,760
  • The number of resident students transferring from Wyoming community colleges this semester: 686
  • The number of students enrolled in UW’s distance education programs this fall: 1,793
  • The average high school grade-point average for new freshmen this year: 3.52
  • The average ACT score for new freshmen this year: 24.7
  • Wyoming residents make up 66.3 percent of the UW student body, nonresidents 33.7 percent.
  • Percent of student body made up of Wyoming residents: 66.3%
  • Percent of student body made up of nonresidents 33.7%
  • International students fall 2019: 623
  • Minority students make up 12.7% of UW’s student population
  • Enrollment of Native American students has increased by 10.6%
  • Enrollment of African American students has increased by 9.3%
  • Percent of students that are women: 51.7%
  • Percent of students that are men: 48.3%
