Casper Home Rentals Going Up to $8000/Night During 2017 Eclipse Festival
It is nearly 8 months away, and the writing is on the wall - the 2017 Wyoming Eclipse Festival is going to be huge. This is great short-term news for our economy but may be a headache with the flood of people in our cozy town. We reported back in November of 2016 that all the hotel rooms are booked for that weekend. Now websites like AirBnB are one of the few housing options available for people coming from out of town. And the price is skyrocketing. It is the financial laws of supply and demand. Where there is less supply and more demand, the price goes up.
We searched AirBnB for available rentals arriving Saturday, August 19th and leaving Tuesday, August 22nd. Most of the rentals have a minimum amount of days plus some fees. Now as someone who lives in Casper, you can interpret this story two ways. One screams "WOW that is expensive". Two is if you have an empty home, an opportunity is knocking. If you know someone who is in need of a place to stay for the Eclipse Festival, they better book something soon. Even on AirBnB, there are only 10 listings in the greater Casper area.
NOTE: This listings change every day. The prices and availability are in constant flux. Please visit AirBnB.com for current information.
