Cheyenne Man Pleads Guilty to Sexual Exploitation of a Child
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Cheyenne man faces 22 years in prison following his guilty plea in federal court Thursday to a charge of sexual exploitation of a child.
Joshua Stevens pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Alan B. Johnson in Cheyenne.
A plea agreement with federal prosecutors calls for dropping a separate federal charge of attempting to induce a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.
Police arrested Stevens last summer in Cheyenne after authorities say he sent electronic images showing sexual abuse of a child to an undercover detective in Washington, D.C.
The 34-year-old Stevens told Johnson he transmitted the images over the Internet after agreeing to exchange images with the detective.
