Cheyenne NWS: Two Feet Of Snow Possible In SE Wyoming Mountains
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about the possibility of two feet of snow falling on the Snowy Range and Sierra Madre Mountains over the next couple of days.
The agency is also taking the opportunity to remind motorists of some fo the precautions they should take for winter travel. The weather service posted this statement on its website:
''Late night cravings coupled with National Gingerbread House Day certainly gets us thinking about indulging our sweet tooth but with ongoing winter snow across the Sierra Madre and Snowy Ranges into the weekend ensures we leave our “bread crumbs” of safety tip and checking the forecast before venturing out. Snowfall expected to continue across the mountains with the highest accumulations reaching over two feet. Widespread snow elsewhere of generally under an inch through Saturday morning but with the persistent strong winds, expect blowing snow conditions and possible slick/snow-covered roadways should you venture out closer to the warning areas.''
