Parts of southeast Wyoming could see just under an inch of rain and a few inches of snow this Memorial Day weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Cheyenne.
''The next five days will trend to more seasonal temperatures for the area, with above average temperatures expected by Friday. Chances exist on Tuesday and Saturday for afternoon thunderstorms.''
A winter storm warning remained in effect for parts of southeast Wyoming on Friday morning, with up to 10 inches of snow possible at higher elevations.
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says hail and strong winds are possible this afternoon [May 17] in southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle.
The warning includes Arlington, Laramie, Cheyenne, Wheatland, Lusk, Torrington, Harrison, Chadron and Alliance as well as the I-80 Summit between Laramie and Cheyenne.
