The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service is warning people about potentially dangerous winds in southeast Wyoming on Friday.
The service issued this statement Thursday morning:
"Strong west to northwest winds are expected to return to southeast Wyoming overnight tonight and persist through Friday. High Wind Warnings have been posted for much of southeast Wyoming. Winds are expected to become strong along Interstate 80 near Rawlins and Arlington after midnight, spreading east to Bordeaux and south Laramie Range by late morning Friday. Laramie is expected to see these strong winds as well Friday afternoon. Wind gusts of 60-65 mph are expected in the warned areas.
