‘CMA Country Christmas’ Special to Air December 20
There are only a few more weeks until Christmas, and that can only mean one thing. Okay, actually it means several things, but one of our favorites is the 'CMA Country Christmas' special. The third annual two-hour holiday and country music celebration will air on ABC on Dec. 20.
This will be the third year that Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles has hosted the TV special since 'CMA Country Christmas' kicked off with an inaugural broadcast in 2010. When it aired again the following year, more than 9 million country music fans and Christmas enthusiasts tuned in for a 23 percent increase in viewership. With country stars growing their crossover popularity, this year is sure to attract even more viewers.
Plus, it doesn't hurt that this year's 'CMA Country Christmas' is offering up a seriously star-studded lineup. Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Colbie Caillat, Katherine Jenkins, Lady Antebellum, John Legend, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Scotty McCreery, Nettles and the Band Perry will all appear on the holiday special. The artists will celebrate by performing and sharing some of their favorite Christmas stories.
"The popularity of ‘CMA Country Christmas’ grows each year,” said Steve Moore, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “The special is reaching across format lines and bringing in new viewers who appreciate great performances. It is especially rewarding that ABC has made the decision to air the program three times during the holiday season.”
Get ready to get cozy on your couch and enjoy the Christmas holiday with your favorite stars. Tune in to ABC on Thursday Dec. 20 at 9PM ET, Saturday Dec. 22 at 9PM ET or Sunday Dec. 23 at 4PM ET to watch.
