Faith Hill Lays Down ‘Little Drummer Boy’ During ‘CMA Country Christmas’
Faith Hill knows the true meaning of Christmas — it’s making sure the reindeer are fed. After spilling the intimate details of her holiday traditions with her country cowboy husband Tim McGraw during the ‘CMA Country Christmas’ special, the blonde songstress laid down a good kind of sleepy song: the classic ‘Little Drummer Boy.’
Surrounded by an accompaniment of a half-circle’s worth of glee club members all dressed in black, Hill slowly made her way through the 1940s Christmas tune hitting all of the notes with perfect grace. As the song gained momentum, so did Hill, her notes growing louder with each “pa rum pa pum pum.”
Her somber performance, while touching, was a far cry from the hilarity she provided pre-song. Hill spilled to ABC viewers that, yes, she has seen Mr. McGraw in a full Santa suit once before when they did a benefit concert a few years back — and boy is that one show we wish we’d been there for.
The ‘Come Home’ country star also shared that she and her husband read ”Twas the Night Before Christmas’ each holiday season, as well as bake and make reindeer food for the real Santa’s entourage. Hill added, however, that “I do not play my own Christmas music. That would be weird.”
