COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., -- The Wyoming Cowboys head south for another Front Range Showdown this time against Air Force inside Clune Arena on the campus of the United State Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

It is the first of a two-game road swing for the Cowboys.

Fans can watch, listen to the contest, as well as follow stats on GoWyo.com and stream the game on the Mountain West App. The game will also televised on Altitude. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 26 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network, as Keith Kelly will be on the call alongside Kevin McKinney.

 

 

About The Teams

Wyoming heads into the contest with a 11-9 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the MW. UW earned a miracle come from behind win over No. 24/23 Colorado State on Saturday in overtime 79-76. The Pokes are shooting 38.6 percent from behind the arc for first in the MW and No. 16 in the nation.

The Cowboys and opponents are shooting 45 percent from the field on the season. Wyoming is shooting 74.9 percent from the free throw line for second in the conference and No. 54 in the nation.

The Falcons head into the game with an 8-11 overall record and a 1-6 mark in conference play after falling on the road at Fresno State by a score of 84-70 on Saturday. The Falcons shoot the ball well from the field at 46 percent and are shooting 38 percent from behind the arc. Air Force is scoring 68.7 points per game is allowing 68.9 per contest.

 

 

About The Players

Wyoming is led in scoring by Sam Griffin at 18.7 points per game, which ranks second in the MW and No. 65 in the nation. He also leads the team with 73 assists on the season and 49 three pointers.

He is five seven three-pointers away from 300 in his career. Akuel Kot adds 15.3 points per game to rank No. 12 in the MW. He went over 2,000 points in his career with 18 points against Colorado State with 11 coming in overtime. Mason Walters adds 12.4 points per game on the season. Cam Manyawu and Brendan Wenzel lead the Cowboys with 5.9 rebounds per game. Wenzel adds seven boards per game in conference play.

Air Force is led in scoring by Rytis Petraitis at 17.1 points per game to rank eighth in the conference this season. He also leads the team grabbing 5.8 rebounds per game. Ethan Taylor adds 16.4 points per game and leads the team with 66 three-pointers this season for first in the conference and ninth in the nation.

Beau Becker adds 15.8 points per night and leads the team shooting 53 percent from the field.

 

 

About The Series

The Cowboys lead the all-time series against the Falcons 82-43 in a series that dates back to 1958. Wyoming is 35-24 all-time against Air Force in Colorado Springs. The Falcons won both contests last season.
