The Albany County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two people killed in Sunday's plane crash west of Laramie.

They were 73-year-old Lawrence Allen Crosby and 56-year-old Frances Li, both from Bend, Oregon.

According to a department Facebook post, the two had flown out of Fort Collins and were on their way to Rock Springs when, at approximately 11:45 a.m., Denver International Airport lost contact with them in Albany County.

Sheriff Aaron Appelhans says his office, Albany County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, the Laramie Fire Department, and Classic Air Medical responded to the area of Dutton Creek Road and found the plane, a Cessna 182, crashed "in a remote location away from any notable landmarks."

The sheriff's office says the investigation has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
