Caught on Camera

"A vigilant civilian captured footage on their personal dash camera showing individuals breaking into a vehicle," the department in a Facebook post on Monday afternoon said.

The Sheriff's Office says that footage was quickly shared with deputies and proved instrumental in identifying the suspects, Ryan Griffin and Kayla Gutierrez, who, thanks to the help of the Wyoming Highway Patrol, were located and pulled over.

Traffic Stop Leads to 99 Fentanyl Pills, Stolen Items

"During the stop, law enforcement discovered 99 suspected fentanyl pills and several of the stolen items inside the vehicle—highlighting just how dangerous and unpredictable these situations can be," the post reads.

The Sheriff's Office says Griffin and Gutierrez were booked into the Albany County Detention Center and are currently facing burglary, possession of fentanyl, and possession of burglar's tools charges.

Outstanding Teamwork

"A big thank-you goes out to the citizen who reported the incident, our dedicated deputies, and our partners at the Wyoming Highway Patrol," the post reads. "This is a great example of how community and law enforcement working together can make a real difference."
