Cheyenne East basketball player Drew Jackson joined some elite company earlier this season as he rang up the 1000th point of his career. Jackson is enjoying a great senior season as he leads 4A in scoring, averaging 21.8 points per game. He is quick enough to get the rim and beat opponents down the floor plus he is dangerous from the perimeter. Jackson has been shooting a whopping 62 from the floor from 2-point land, 31% from 3-point land, and 69% from the free-throw line. He has a 32-point game this season vs. Lander.

Cheyenne East won the 4A state championship in 2022-23 with Jackson averaging 15.9 points per game, shooting 43% from 2-point range and 29% from 3-point range. He had a 26-point effort vs. Laramie last season and 24 points vs. Star Valley. In his sophomore season, Jackson averaged 14 points a game and will join the Wyoming Cowboy football program in the fall as a preferred walk-on.
