Cheyenne Woman Busted After Passing Out With Fentanyl in Vehicle

A Cheyenne woman is facing a felony drug charge after police say they found her passed out in a running vehicle with fentanyl, cash, and a loaded gun inside.

According to a booking sheet, 34-year-old Amanda Christine Gray was slumped over in the driver's seat of a black Ford with the key turned over in the ignition when police contacted her in the 600 block of East Carlson Street at approximately 10:48 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3.

Police say they had to tap on the driver's window multiple times before Gray woke up.

Police say Gray had slurred speech, kept nodding off, was confused, and had constricted pupils, and when they asked her if she had recently used fentanyl, she said, "Yes."

Police say there was crumbled tin foil and a metal pipe in the center console, and upon further search of the vehicle, 183 suspected fentanyl pills, $1,380, and a loaded .40-caliber gun were found.

Gray consented to a legal blood draw and was booked into the Laramie County Detention Center on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Gray made her initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court Monday morning, during which she was informed of the charges against her.

Her bond was set at $2,000 cash, which she posted, and her preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 16 at 2:30 p.m.
