
Winchester Hills Evacuation Order Lifted, But Terry Road Closed
UPDATE 7:45 P.M.: Laramie County has issued the following statement:
Laramie CNTY Alert: Evacuation Order has been lifted for those affected by the Winchester Hills Fire. TERRY RANCH RD WILL REMAIN CLOSED THROUGH NIGHT. RESIDENTS LIVING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF TERRY RANCH RD WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS WHILE THE FIRE CREWS WORK THROUGH THE AREA. Fire crews will be working through the night to clean up and monitor the fire. Residents will notice patrols throughout the area through the night.
UPDATE 6:30 p.m.--The Laramie County Sheriff's Office says the fire has been contained, but as of 6:30 p.m. the evacuation order remained in place as mop up operations continue.
A sheriff's department spokesman says the call on the fire came into the Laramie County Dispatch Center at 4:26 p.m. on a fire near Terry Ranch Road and Parsley. He says a damage assessment is not yet available. He said he cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
UPDATE: The Laramie County Sheriff's Office says a fire that has forced the evacuation of the Winchester Hills area has been contained. As of about 6:15 p.m. mop-up operations were underway and people were not yet being allowed back into the evacuated area.

Order Was Issued Shortly After 5 p.m.
The county emergency alert system issued the following statement at 5:06 p.m.
Laramie CNTY Alert: Due to a large grass fire threatening structures in the Winchester Hills area all residents need to evacuate immediately. Local Law Enforcement and Fire will direct residents where to go. Standby for location on evacuation shelter.
That was followed a short time later by directions on where to evacuate to:

The Laramie County Sheriff's Office posted the following at about 5:30 p.m.
