Winter Weather Advisory SE Wyoming, 6 Inches Of Snow Possible
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for some areas of southeast Wyoming, including Cheyenne and the Summit between Cheyenne and Laramie.
The advisory will run from 11 a.m. on Friday to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service. The agency posted the following on it's website:
8/350AM: Howdy! Winter Weather Advisories have been posted for the I-80 Corridor from Kimball Nebraska, west to Cheyenne and the I-80 Summit from 11 AM this morning through 11 AM Saturday. A low pressure system that is currently bringing snow to southern Colorado is forecast to move northeast towards northeastern Colorado this afternoon and evening. The wrap around moisture on the north side of this low expected to bring accumulating snow in the highlighted area. Expecting 3 to 5 inches of snow to fall in Kimball and Laramie Counties along Interstate 80, with the heaviest snow falling over the I-80 Summit at 4-6 inches. Need to keep an eye on this system as snow amounts could increase significantly if it tracks further west instead of the track its currently on. If it tracks further west, then advisories could be expanded north and west. Stay tuned to later updates in the forecast on this event. Expect travel delays and/or impacts as bursts of moderate to heavy snow is likely in the highlighted areas.
