Laramie River Flooding Expected To Begin Sunday
The National Weather Service is now projecting that the Laramie River in Laramie will reach flood stage of 8 feet around 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.
According to river level projections at 9 a.m. this morning, the Laramie River is expected to reach its highest level of 8.7 feet around 6 p.m. on Monday June 8 and should begin to recede on Tuesday morning.
Once water rises above flood stage, access to Chimney Lamp Road Bridge may become impossible. Water will begin to encroach on the greenway at the intersection of Park and Spruce Streets. In Addition, houses next to greenway along the right bank may have water over low lying areas.
Once the river reaches a level of 8.5 feet, water begins to reach the top of the greenway path at the intersection of Park and Spruce Streets, and water is over the driveways of homes next to the greenway along the right river bank.
