The City of Laramie, Parks & Recreation Department announced that the pickleball court project in Undine Park is done and the courts are for play. The courts are located in Undine Park off Ord Street between 5th and 7th Streets (map).

Evergreen Tennis Courts, Inc. temporarily completed the re-surfacing and striping project by installing the pickleball nets earlier this week. The project converted a lightly used tennis court into a four court pickleball facility. The courts at Undine are open for play all year long, weather permitting.

The basics of pickleball are a combination of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.  It can be played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net and is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes and in either a singles or doubles format. The rules are simple, and the game is easy to learn.

This project was funded by an Albany County Recreational Mill grant administered by the Albany County Rec Board. Future improvements include the finalization of the court color and surface, windscreens and new lighting.
