Likelihood Of Hitting A Deer In Wyoming Is Staggering
New data from State Farm Insurance suggests that the chances of hitting a deer while driving in Wyoming are an astounding 1 in 56. That is number six in the country.
That's bad, but there are actually five states where you're likelier to hit a deer.
While Wyoming land at number six on this years list, the worst state for deer crashes was West Virginia. South Dakota, Iowa, Pennsylvania, and Montana rounded out the top five.
November, October, and December are the time of year when drivers are most likely to hit a large animal like a deer.
New data shows U.S. drivers on the average have a 1 in 116 chance of a collision with an animal, according to the State Farm annual study. The company estimates there were over 1.9 million animal collision insurance claims in the U.S. between July 1, 2018, and June 30, 2019.
