Riverton Resident Reclaims Wyoming Pumpkin Record
Ron Hoffman did it again. The Riverton resident recently reclaimed the record for the largest pumpkin ever grown in Wyoming.
Hoffman's 1322 pound gourd broke the previous mark, a 1268 pounder set by Cheyenne's Andy Corbin last year.
Hoffman and Corbin have developed a friendly rivalry over the years, tradiing state records on several occasions.
Together, they have combined to produce the ten largest pumpkins ever grown in Wyoming.
"I am very happy that (Ron) has the title back," Corbin wrote on his website pumpkinfanatic.com. "Ron is always willing to share advise, provide seeds, and is extremely humble."
When he's not growing massive pumpkins, Hoffman works as an engineer for the Wyoming Department of Transportation.
