Third Annual Lexo is My Copilot Ride Day [VIDEO]
The third annual Lexo is My Copilot Ride Day will begin Saturday at 9 a.m. at Snowy Range Ski Area.
Lexo is My Copilot, a local non-profit group, puts on the ride day each year in memory of Alexandre Cole "Lexo" Young, a University of Wyoming student who took his own life in 2013 after struggling with the combined effects of concussions and alcohol.
Anyone who wishes to participate in this year's ride day can buy a "Lexo" lift ticket at the Snowy Range Ski Area ticket window for $55 -- $10 will go back to the Lexo is My Copilot group which aims to establish a scholarship in Alex's name. Snowy Range Ski Area will donate an additional $5.
Those who would like to fund the organization through lift ticket purchases but cannot attend can call the ticket office Saturday and purchase a lift ticket for the next person in line.
Rental equipment can be reserved ahead of time by calling Snowy Range Ski Area at 745-5750.
Lexo is My Copilot works to preserve Alex's memory and educate the public about the severity of concussions, alcohol and suicide.
Alex got his nickname from James Learned, who was Alex's soccer coach for several years. Watch the video to learn more about Alex and the group Lexo is My Copilot.
