Laramie High School rodeo club members Kane Butcher and Justin Dory will be part of Team Wyoming at next month’s National High School Finals Rodeo.

Both cowboys were among the top four finishers in their event after the season long point’s race. They will be competing at the NHSFR in Rock Springs, WY July 13-19.

Dory finished in a tie for fourth and fifth with 71.50 points in the saddle bronc competition. Even though he didn’t have a qualified ride at state, Dory accumulated enough points throughout the season to move on.

At the State Finals in Douglas, Butcher won the second round of steer wrestling with a time of 9.00 seconds. He was also second in the championship round and finished fifth in the average.

Another Laramie high school rodeo club member performed well in Douglas. In the first round of steer wrestling, Blare Romsa was second. He ended up in eighth place in the second round.
