The first of three presidential finalists visited the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie on Monday for a series of meetings and public forums.  The next candidate will visit on Wednesday.

Duane Nellis, President of Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, was on campus all day for events including meetings with faculty, staff, and students.  UW spokesman Chad Baldwin says the events were very well-attended.

“The open forum for the community and others at the conference center yesterday afternoon had about a hundred people,” says Baldwin.  “Lots of interest and lots of participation.”

Laurie Nichols, Provost and Chief Academic Officer at South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, will be on campus Wednesday.

Nichols will participate in the same schedule of events:

  •  9:30-10:30 a.m. – Meeting with faculty in the Education Building auditorium.
  • 10:45-11:45 a.m. – Meeting with students in the Arts and Sciences auditorium.
  • 1:15-2:15 p.m. – Meeting with staff in Room 129 of the Classroom Building.
  • 3-4 p.m. – Public presentation, open forum, and question-and-answer session for students, faculty, staff, and community members at the UW Conference Center.

Anyone who cannot attend can access the events–live or recorded–online through UW’s WyoCast System.
