I feel blessed to be able to wear shorts as we approach the midway point of November!

Unusual? You bet. However, my enjoyment comes at the expense of friends chomping at the bit to hit the slopes. Whether you enjoy downhill skiing, cross country or snowboarding, all three are great winter sports.

So, as you wait for the flakes to fly, here are some ideas for road trips to enjoy your favorite ski area with the beauty and splendor of winter in Wyoming.

I'll wait for you by the Bunny Slope.

    Snowy Range Ski Area

Snowy Range is loved for the affordability and the fact that it's a great place for families to share their experiences without the crowds.

We loved skiing at Snowy Range! It was a great first skiing experience for our kids (ages 12, 10 and 7) and great for us too as we hadn't skied in over 15 years. There was no traffic getting to the resort. It was affordable and not crowded. There was minimal to no wait for lifts. Three of our kids and myself took ski/snowboard lessons and all were excellent. I would recommend a full day as you get a group in the morning and more often than not, a private or semi-private in the afternoon. It allowed our kids to progress quickly and according to their abilities. There are slopes for everyone's abilities. There was a wide variety of choices in the dining area. We also used and were happy with the Kid's Corner for our youngest (age 2). We had a great family ski trip at Snowy Range and would definitely go back!!

The Medicine Bow Mountains gives a spectacular backdrop to your ski excursion.

The setting is pristine and accommodating on your winter break.

Couldn't have been more pleased with the beautiful lodge and friendly staff at the Snowy Range ski resort. The lodge was handicap accessible which was so helpful! Every staff we talked with was friendly and helpful! The skiing was great! We can't wait to go back!

Wherever you choose to spend time, you'll be surrounded in Wyoming beauty.
