Every autumn, the population of Lingle, Wyo. doubles when families flock to the Ellis' Harvest Home. Now in its 12th year, the corn maze and pumpkin patch officially opens on Saturday.

The theme for this year's corn maze is "one to crow about" and features a rooster with a labyrinth of four-feet walking paths and a hay maze for younger children. Work on the maze begins in June when the cornrows are sprayed to create the design. After the rows are created, they spray for weeds and groom the pathways. The maze is typically more difficult to navigate early in the fall before the first freeze. Although it's not designed to be scary, getting lost in the maze can be unnerving, especially during their moonlight tours on Saturday nights.

The farm also has a pick-your-own pumpkin patch featuring a variety of shapes and sizes, along with a larger family pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, and the popular "corn cannon".

Ellis' Harvest Home is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Fridays during October from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission to the corn maze and pumpkin patch is $4 for ages four and up. Children under three are free with a paid adult. The farm is located two miles west of Lingle, 93 miles northeast of Cheyenne, on State Highway 26.
