SweeTarts are the most popular Halloween candy in Wyoming, according to a new nationwide survey.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups claimed the top spot in 12 states, while M+M's took the title in 11. Snickers is the most popular candy in five states. Wyoming was the only state where SweeTarts won.

Around the region, Colorado's favorite Halloween candy is Nerds. Hot Tamales topped the survey in Nebraska. In Montana, they prefer Tootsie Roll Pops. In South Dakota, trick or treaters will be getting Gummy Worms this year. Reese's reigns supreme in Idaho while M+M's is the most popular candy in Utah.

The average household will spend over $25 on Halloween candy this year. In the survey, 52% of respondents said they would prefer children to trick-or-treat on the last Saturday in October instead of Halloween night. The survey also pegged 15 as the age when kids are too old to trick-or-treat.
