This YouTube Love Serenade Is Painfully Awkward
“Everything I do, I do it for you,” sings Bryan Adams in his notoriously sappy smash hit of the same name.
YouTube user THASSLEHOFF seconds that emotion, choosing the Robin Hood movie theme to serenade a fair maiden named Emily.
THASSLEHOFF preempted the inevitable criticism of his thin, tuneless voice by conceding in the video’s description he “can’t sing very well.” He doesn’t address, however, his complete inability to lip sync or pretend to play the guitar. Questionable wardrobe decisions are also left for the viewer to ponder without explanation.
None of it matters because, according to our minstrel, Emily liked the video. So suck it, internet haters. Creepy, unrequited love always triumphs over snark and cynicism.
