We all know that sections of the southern USA have been devastated by an unprecedented outbreak of tornadoes this spring.  One of the areas hit hard was a part of Oklahoma not far from where Reba was born.

Blake Shetlton is also a native of Oklahoma and still lives in Tishomingo OK.  Both these country stars have teamed up with the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and the Choctaw Casino Resort to help out their neighbors.

The Tornado Relief Concert is set for May 26th and is designed to help off-set at least half a million dollars in damages from the latest round of storms.  Tickets will be available beginning May 6th.

“A lot of people lost a great deal in this disaster and it’s particularly close to us because we both consider Oklahoma home,” said Reba. “We wanted to do something and let the people in Oklahoma know that we love them and we’re praying for them during this difficult tragedy.”

“Oklahoma defines who I am and seeing the effects this disaster has been on my neighbors, I knew I had to do something,” said Shelton. “Reba and I have a lot of love for this state and we wanted to do what we can to help. This place is my home and these people are family to us.”

Unfortunately, this tornado season is shaping up to be one of the most active in years and it's probably going to take a concerted effort on everyone's part to kick in with relief.  We'll do our best to keep you informed on the latest fund-raisng efforts.
