The Band Perry

It was called Country Music: In Performance at the White House and it was designed to celebrate country music.  And it included top country talents including Kris Kristofferson, Lyle Lovett, Alison Krauss, The Band Perry, Darious Rucker and Dierks Bentley among others.

The Band Perry were arguably the big winners at last week’s CMA Awards, winning crystal bullets for Single, Song and New Artist of the Year. This week, they’re continuing to reap the benefits as sales of their self-titled debut album are up 112 percent compared to the previous week.

...and Faith Hill and Kellie Pickler.  No, we're not talking some mega-cross genre spectacular here.  It's just that along with all the wonderful Holiday TV shows we get every year, it appears that country talent will be well represented, too.

I really don't think the Perry kids need to worry too much about the "sophomore curse".  You know, the situation where a band can't match the success of their first album?  The Band Perry is reportedly in it to win it with their next effort.

The Band Perry are still soaking in the success of their No. 1 hit ‘If I Die Young,’ but that doesn’t mean the trio are showing any signs of slowing down. Song of the Year winners the Band Perry turned the lights down low for their performance at the 2011 CMA Awards of their very folk-inspired new single, ‘All Your Life.’

No one has yet been able to top the Band Perry during the 2011 CMA Awards. The brothers-sister trio are two-for-two after picking up the CMA Award for Song of the Year for ‘If I Die Young.’ The song was also honored with the night’s first award, Single of the Year.

For the Band Perry, the first, second and third time is a charm. The sibling trio picked up the award for New Artist of the Year at the 2011 CMA Awards, following wins for both Song of the Year and Single of the Year.

The CMA awards coming up in November are already creating a buzz and they've spawned a brand new special on ABC.  The CMA Close Up Special is already in the can and is currently airing in selected markets.  The network is offering the special to their affilliates across the country.
