2016 Wyoming PAWS Results Up Overall
PAWS scores increased across most grade levels and content areas compared to 2015, with the biggest increases coming in 7th grade math and 4th grade reading.
"This is the direct result of great teaching that's happening in our school districts and our school districts really capitalizing on that consistency that exists in our state," said Superintendent Jillian Balow.
Balow says while she is pleased with the results, it's important to note that PAWS is just one assessment.
"This is a piece of the puzzle and certainly isn't the end all be all," said Balow. "There is work to be done to close achievement gaps for English language learners, students with disabilities, students on free/reduced price lunch and homeless students."
